I am a full-time, independent translator with 25 years of experience based in Madison, Wisconsin. I am ATA-certified for translation from French to English and Spanish to English (no exam exists for Thai).
Feel free to look around my website to learn more about me and the services I offer. If you have any questions, please feel to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
I participate regularly in continuing education, largely focusing on medical/scientific sessions but also legal and other topics.
In 2000 I completed a certificate in French to English translation through the New York University School of Professional Studies.
I completed the American Medical Writers Association's Essential Skills Certificate in 2013.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1990.
I worked as a reviewer of the Thai edition of National Geographic Magazine during its start-up year. As a native English speaker, I compared the completed Thai translation with the English to make sure the meaning of the English had been correctly understood and that there were no omissions.
In addition to my usual medical and legal translations, over a period of about six years I also regularly translated French historical materials (including chronicles, archives, parts of books, and correspondence for historian Mary Margarent McAllen for work on her book Maximilian and Carlota : Europe's Last Empire in Mexico. See what she has to say on my Testimonials page. You can find her books at Amberson Books.
